The second European Shakuhachi Summer School will take place at
La Maison du Kleebach, a retreat centre near Munster, itself near Colmar, in Alsace (France). This house offers everything that the Summer School needs for its day-to-day activities, onsite: teaching spaces, performing spaces, accommodation and catering, as well as pleasant surroundings in the Alsace countryside,

La Maison du Kleebach is a retreat house that specialises in music events, and is thus ideal for our purposes. We have the house to ourselves for the period, a privilege for which we’ve had to pay. The house itself offers accommodation and all meals, and in our experience the intensity and enjoyment of events like the Summer School is enhanced when participants remain concentrated and don’t disperse into the four winds for food and housing. The pricing of the venue is also favourable, which has meant that we have been able to keep the overall cost down. We thus hope that many people may come who might have otherwise been prevented by expensive accommodation fees. A limitation that we’ve had to accept is that accommodation in La Maison du Kleebach is restricted to shared rooms (2 to 4 persons). Nevertheless we hope that participants will accept this limitation for the sake of the advantages of all being together, and we’d ask you to bear in mind the fact that we’ve had to make a substantial financial commitment in advance to La Maison du Kleebach. These expenses will be covered only
if the participants support us in our choice. Otherwise the costs will be difficult to cover, leading to a drain on the limited resources of the ESS (which is a non-profit charity organization). Although we hope that all participants will want to stay at La Maison du Kleebach and enjoy the benefits of intensive communication, dialogue and socializing around the shakuhachi, it is possible
to attend the Summer School without having accommodation in the house, even if this was not actually part of our original intention. If you nevertheless feel that you must seek accommodation outside of La Maison du Kleebach, we
would remind you that the nearest settlement is 4 kilometers away, and as there will be lunchtime events in the programme each day, lunch will in any event have to be taken by all participants together at the venue (as agreed with La Maison du Kleebach). The hire and usage of the buildings is included in the price of lodging and meals. It is thus not possible to circumvent those charges in their entirety. Also in addition to the fee indicated for full stay, there is a scale of fees including the 2 principal meals and a scale of fees including only lunch

If you will not be staying at La Maison du Kleebach, and are thus paying a lower fee, please indicate this in the “other choice” field within the "payment" section at the end of the application form, noting clearly your choice of fee and number of meals to be taken at La Maison du Kleebach.
You must then reserve other accommodation for yourself, at your expense.

N.B. for non-French citizens: don't forget to validate (stamp) your train
ticket in the machine on the platform before boarding the train!
2. from Gunsbach-Griesbach station to Maison du Kleebach = 2 km
• for those on foot, the route to Maison du Kleebach runs to a fairly
steep slope at the finish
• car-sharing *: please advise the volunteers
(either for the Tuesday evening or the Wednesday morning)
• taxis with 3 or 4 places: 7 - 10 € total one-way
• a coach for 8 or 9 persons: about 15 € total one-way
in order to minimise the trips by the limited number of taxis available, or
to organise the car-sharing of necessary, we will attempt to unite the
participants into small groups additionally: possibility of coming from Munster:
Munster - Maison du Kleebach = 4 km

Options hébergement

La Maison du Kleebach est une résidence de séjour orientée sur les événements musicaux, et correspond de ce fait idéalement à notre projet. Nous disposons de l'usage de ce lieu dans son intégralité, un privilège qui a aussi son prix. Nous offrons donc le logement et le couvert, ce qui, de par notre expérience, contribuera d'autant plus au plaisir de participer en restant bien concentré sans être tenté de se disperser aux alentours.
Le prix de la session a été fixé de façon à réduire au maximum les frais sur place, offrant ainsi la possibilité au plus grand nombre de venir sans avoir à gérer un coût d’hébergement trop élevé. La seule limitation à accepter étant celle de partager les chambres entre participants (de 2 à 4 personnes).
Pour pouvoir avoir accès à cette résidence, notre fédération, au rappel qui est une structure à but non lucrative, a dû s'engager financièrement pour réserver ce lieu, frais qui ne seront couverts que si les participants nous suivent dans notre choix, le cas échéant pouvant nous mettre en difficulté avec la structure d'accueil.
Aussi nous espérons que les participants choisiront majoritairement de demeurer à La Maison du Kleebach et d’apprécier de ce fait les avantages de la communication et du dialogue dans le cadre d’une vie sociale intensive orientée sur la pratique du shakuhachi, mais bien que cela ne soit pas notre idée première il est néanmoins possible de choisir une formule sans résidence sur place.
Si vous décidez néanmoins de vous loger et de vous restaurer ailleurs, nous vous rappelons que la commune la plus proche est à 4 kilomètres de distance, et que des activités sont organisées au moment du repas de midi, celui-çi étant de ce fait automatiquement pris sur place comme convenu avec la Maison du Kleebach.
La location des locaux étant incluse dans le prix de l'hébergement et des repas, il n'est donc pas possible de contourner ceux-ci dans leur totalité. Aussi en plus de la pension complète présentée, vous est proposé une formule incluant les 2 repas principaux et une formule comprenant uniquement le repas de midi.

Si vous choisissez l'une des formules sans hébergement, veuillez, s'il vous plaît, le notifier dans la rubrique "autre choix" du bloc "règlement" à la fin du bulletin d'inscription, tout en indiquant le tarif que vous avez choisi. L'organisation de votre hébergement restant alors entièrement à votre charge.
